From 1987 to 2006, Alan Greenspan served as Chairman of the Federal Reserve of the United States. He founded his own company, Greenspan Associates LLC, that provides consulting for firms. He was awarded the highest civilian award in the United States, Presidential Medal of Freedom, in November 2005 by President George W. Bush.
