Michael Oher is an American football offensive tackle who is currently a free agent. He had a pretty rough childhood; he was one of 12 children of a mother who was an alcoholic and a cocaine addict and a father who was frequently in prison. When he was 7 years old, he was placed in foster care and he even spent a part of his childhood homeless. However, his luck turned around when he was adopted by Leigh Anne and Sean Tuohy in 2004. After he graduated high school, he played college football for the University of Mississippi and was drafted by the Baltimore Ravens.

He is one of the subjects of Michael Lewis's 2006 book, The Blind Side: Evolution of a Game which was later adapted for film. The film became wildly popular, starring Quinton Aaron as Michael Oher, alongside Sandra Bullock and Tim McGraw. The film was nominated for Academy Awards for both Best Picture and Best Actress for Bullock.
